Email Account Management
If you are a small business owner or website owner then you
will most likely have multiple email accounts for:
- Employees
- Business functions e.g. sales, support
This means that you will be required to create and configure
multiple email accounts.
This management will be done in two stages:
- Create email accounts/addresses on the email server
- Configuring Client access to the email account.
Create Email Accounts/Addresses on the Email Server

In the add new account form fill in the appropriate boxes. In the
example below I am creating the email address and email account
called testuser@oeupdates.com.

When you create the account Bluehost (will vary according to your
host) displays a screen with the client configuration settings that
you need and also offers install scripts for various clients that
you can use. (see screen shot). If your client is on the list
download the script and use it on the client computer.

Once created you can go back to the other screen and scroll
down the screen and manage the account. On this screen you have only
a few options but there are other things that you can do that aren't
shown here but may be shown in your email manager.

When you come to configure a desktop email client like Outlook
Express to access your email mailbox you will need the following
information which you can get by logging in to your email account
management control panel.
-
SMTP server- This sever is used to send email.
-
POP3 or Imap4 server-This server is used to receive email.
-
Account name - This is your login name to receive
email.
-
Account password -This is your login password to
receive email.
-
Email Address- This is the sender address
Mail groups are simply a list of email addresses, that are
treated as a single entity and are ideal when you need to send to
the same group of recipients on a regular basis as you only need to
add a single entry rather than selecting multiple individual
entries.
