Export Hotmail Contacts
Hotmail provides the ability to import contacts into Hotmail but not the ability to export them. If you use Hotmail in conjunction with Outlook Express how do you get the contacts from
hotmail into Outlook Express without having to do it manually?
Extract Contacts Using Extraction Software
To export the contacts you need to extract the addresses form the contacts web page using
Email Extraction software.
Email Extractor Lite is a free email extractor script for extracting
email addresses from text documents usually web pages. If you are still
using email extractor Lite 1.4 or 1.5 you can view the version history and
download the latest version- email extractor Lite
1.6.1 at surf7.net. (Note: The download has been removed since writing this article. If anyone knows of a similar free tool please let me know using
the contact page.)
To Export the contacts you need to:

Logon to your hotmail account and

Click the contacts tab and open up the contacts page

Select list view and view all of the contacts

Type CTRL+A to select all and CTRL+C to copy the contents

Open email extractor lite -it opens as a web page

Click the mouse pointer in the left window of the extractor page and Type CTRL+V to paste the contents. (fig 1)

Select new line as the formatting character and Click extract.

The addresses appear in the output window (fig 2)

Click copy output (below output window).

Open Notepad again and then Type CTRL+V to paste the addresses into Notepad.

Save it as a .csv file i.e. addresses.csv.

Note:
You should note that only email addresses are extracted and not the names. You will also need to edit the text file and place a header line if you are going to import it into Outlook Express.
