How to Forward an Email in Outlook Express

You can forward an email/emails in Outlook Express either manually, or automatically using message rules. Here we will be covering both options. With either option the original email remains in your inbox and a copy is sent to the forwarding address.

Manually Forward Email

Open the email as normal and select the forward option.

A new message window opens just like when composing a normal email. Enter the address on the to line and if you want add additional text and even attachments and then click send. It is good practise and manners to tell the recipient why you are forwarding the email.

Auto Email Forwarding Using Message Rules

Open Outlook Express Select Tools>message rules>mail Select the mail rules tab and click new

Here I've configured that all incoming messages are forwarded to another mailbox. You can be selective and only forward messages from particular senders, subject etc.

Name the rule and click ok. You see a list of male rules ensure that the rule you have just configured has a tick in the box and if necessary move it up or down .

Click ok to finish. All incoming email will now be forwarded to the new email address specified.

You should note that the email will only be forwarded after you open Outlook Express! As is the case with all message rules.
