Internet and Computer Privacy
Your computer is a vast store of private information.
It probably has bank account details, social security numbers, private letters and images, besides the passwords and user names you use to access Internet sites, perhaps even including your bank access
codes.

These are just a few high profile cases involving computer/Internet evidence being used in court to help secure a conviction. There will undoubtedly be others.
I haven't yet heard of are cases in which people identities are stolen from laptops and the information used for illegal activities like bank theft. There have however been many scares,
surprisingly involving some big name companies and government departments losing laptops containing employee and customer details including social security ids, names and addresses.
Big business and government Laptops aside, what is on your own home computer and what would someone find if they had access to it i.e. if it was stolen on taken for repair.
Protecting Your Private Information
Your personal information, like passwords and private data files, are vulnerable to both theft and loss. It is important to protect you information against both. Also in today's online
world your personal information may not even be on your PC! It may be on the Internet.
The first step is computer privacy/security and then you should look at internet privacy which shows you how to
protect your Internet data.
