Find Someone's Email Address - And get Found
How many email addresses do you currently have? how many email addresses have you already had but no longer use?
Or have you lost someone's email address? or have they changed their email address?
Email addresses like business cards don't seem to last very long. You change job, change ISP and out goes the old email address and in comes the new.
You try to tell all of your contacts about the new address but it's impossible to tell all of them.
So how do they get in touch with you now? How do they get your new email
address? Or how do you get theirs. Here we will look at the problem from both sides - getting found
and finding an email address .
Getting Found
If you change email address, and have done he obvious of emailing all
your contacts of the new address then here are some additional steps to consider
to make getting found easier.
- Arrange for email to your old address to be automatically forwarded to the new
email address for a suitable period (3-6 months) before expiring the old
address. If your old email provider doesn't provide this facility then
there are a number of companies like email-forwarding.biz or return path that will pick up email
from various accounts and forward them to the new address.
- Register at an email registry service like findmemail and return path. Where you enter the old and
the new addresses and some search details so people can locate you.
- Register yourself at any of the friend reunited related websites (see
below in finding email addresses).
- Get yourself your own personal
email address so that you don't have to worry about this again in a years
time.
Finding Someone's Email Address
