Organising Your Email for Outlook Express Users
In last months issue we looked at were your email is located and organising the email in your mailbox.
This month we will look at how to organise messages in a folder so that they are displayed in a
way that is convenient to us.
Many inboxes contain a large amount of messages to enable you to easily find and manage your messages you can use:
Views- which let you see only the messages that meet certain criteria-
Continued in Creating Custom Views In Outlook Express
and
Column sorting which allows you to order the messages in a folder according to certain criteria like date received, sender name etc. Continued in
Sorting Messages in a Folder
Warning ... When using either or both you should be careful that you don't accidentally miss email messages by enabling a view or having a sort order that doesn't show your most
recent messages.
I once missed a week of emails because I'd change the folder sort order so that oldest messages were being displayed at the top and kept wondering why I wasn't getting any new mail.

Remember
You should ensure that the details are kept confidential as they are very important (see - If I knew your email account details.
It is also a very good idea to change your account password on a regular basis (every 60 days is sufficient). If you do this you either have to keep a note of the change each time or develop a system for your
passwords. It is also important that you do not use the same password anywhere else.
If you're tired of typing in passwords to enter websites then why not automate it! Roboform is a website password manager that not only remembers your
passwords it can generate them as well.
