Organizing the Outlook Express Address Book
The Outlook Express Address Book stores contact information for easy access
when sending email. It also provides access to Internet directory services,
which enables you to look up people and businesses stored in Internet
directories.
Opening the Address Book
To open the Address Book from Outlook Express, click the Addresses button
on the toolbar, or click the Tools menu and select Address Book.
To open the Address Book from within a message window, click the To, Cc, or
Bcc icon.
Address Book Organisation
When you open the address book you will see two folders.
Shared folder and main identity folder (if using the main identity). If you
cannot see the Shared Contacts folder on the left, select View from the
menu and select Folders and Groups option.
The images below show the address book without the folder view enable and
then enabled.

The above image show the contents of the Main identity folder to view the
contents of the shared folder just click the folder to highlight it.

The shared folder contains contacts that are available between identities. To
move a contact from one folder to another just drag and drop the contact to the
respective folder. It is also possible to copy a contact to another folder but
this is not advisable, as the two contacts are not synchronised.
If we were logged on using another identity then the contacts for that
identity would be shown.
Organise Names in The Address Book
If you have a large Address Book then you may want to organise it to suit your
preferences.
To sort contacts by name, e-mail address, or phone number, click the appropriate
column heading above the name list or select it from the view>sort by
menu option.

To switch columns between ascending and descending sort order, click the column
heading or select it from the view>sort by menu option.
To change the order of the columns, point to a column heading (Name, E-mail
Address, Home Phone, and so on), and then drag the column to the left or right
until it's located where you want it.
